SCIORATI | SCIORATO

Sciori, practically unique, should have originated from a mistake of transcription of the surname Sciorio, which is typically Campano, of the Casertano, of Gate and Arnone, of Grazzanise, of Mondragone and of Giugliano in Campania in Naples, and that should derive from An apheretic form of the Medieval Latin name Luxorius, Lussorius or Lusciorius, we recall with this name a poet of the sixth century who lived in Carthage, and San Lussorio, a Roman military, probably of Cagliari origin, who was martyred in 304.
