Zacchetti is typical of the provinces of Milan, Lodi and Pavia, Zacchetto is unique and is a probable mistake of transcription, Zacchi seems to have three strains, in the Brescia in Bologna and between Florence and Arezzo, Zacchin, which would seem of the Vicenza, is unique, Zacchini is of the area which includes the Florentine and the Aretine, the Bolognese, Romagna and the Pesarese, Zacchino has a small strain in latinense, a very large one in Nardò in Lecce and one in Palermo, Zaccone has a main nucleus in Calabria, but there are strains, perhaps secondary in Materano, in Naples and between Genovese and Asti, Zacconi, very rare, should be typical of Macerata, with a probable secondary strain in Milan. All these surnames derive from modifications or apheresis of the name Isaac or, more frequently, by variations of the apocope of the name Jacopo (Jaco, Giaco, Zaco, etc), in the first case, are probable Hebrew ancestry. FRANCESCO CAVALLERINI MUTINA CAPELLANO PROCUR.
