ZILLITTO

Practically unique, it is present only in the Province of Syracuse, a plausible hypothesis on the origin of this surname could be a dialectal modification of the apheresis of the toponym Pozzillo in the Catanese. Additions provided by Giovanni Vezzelli Zillitto is the Syracusan surname diminutive of Zilli which is in turn from the Greek Tsillis.
