Supplements provided by Eugenio Bolia Ligurian family of Provençal origin, it results to derive from the variations suffered by Boglio, an ancient viscontile lineage of Nice who enjoyed the Lordship of the homonymous feud. A branch of the family subsequently found itself in Carrara, where it was inscribed among the noble families, as appears from the almanacs of Corte Estiensi and the Golden Books of the city. It then split into two branches, the first of which passed into Florence. In the Middle Ages the Barony of Boglio, composed of numerous lands (Boglio, Robbione, Toetto, Tornaforte ...), belonged to the illustrious Casata (de) Boglio, whose founder was Rostagno, viscount of Nice. In the seventeenth century the Bolia Family is present in Bosco di Casanova (from 8 April 1863 Casanova Lerrone), in the hinterland of Albenga, where it was particularly flourishing with G. Battista (born in 1661), considered the forefather of the ingauno branch, ie of the strain settled in the Riviera di Ponente ..
