Iannuzzelli, very rare, has a stock in Naples and one in Sant'andrea Di Conza (AV) and Castelnuovo Di Conza (SA), Iannuzzi is typically from Campania and Cosentino, Iannuzzo would seem specific to Fontanarosa (AV), Jannuzzi and Jannuzzo, very rare, probably due to transcription errors, all derive from dialectal modifications of the name Giovanni. additions provided by Fabio Paolucci Iannuzzi was studied by me with specific archival research: it derives from the cognomal form Iannuzzo (variant of the Ianni dialectal form, derived in turn from the name Giovanni), transformed into Iannuzzi between 800 and 900, ( but the form Iannuzzo still exists for some branches). The surname in Campania comes from the province of Avellino, from the area of the municipality of Pietrastornina and surroundings, and from the Salernitano from the Piana del Sele: the two branches in question would seem to belong to a single stock coming from the nearby Puglia (in all probability the Iannuzzi and Iannuzzo from Campania descend from two brothers who emigrated from Puglia in the 17th century for reasons that are still unclear and which were given to agricultural activity in the places - in the Salerno and Avellino areas - where they settled: studies are still in progress). Other consistent stocks are present today in Puglia and Calabria in the Cosenza area, but I would not be able to establish correlations between them. Among the Iannuzzi and Iannuzzo families who emigrated to other States from Italy, many changed their surname to Januzzi / oo Jannuzzi / o, or to Yannuzzi / oo Yanuzzi / o.
