Familia Cagliari de Mallorca cuyas noticias se remontan al siglo XVI. En 1571 un Gerolamo era concejal del castillo; en 1568 su hijo Giovanni Gerolamo obtuvo el título de caballero hereditario. En 1594 Tommaso, su hijo, compró los señoríos de Villacidro y Serramanna a las autoridades fiscales y en 1603 obtuvo la nobleza. En 1610 Antonio hijo de Tommasso tenía el título de conde de Serramanna; se casó con un Gualbes que le trajo el marquesado de Palmas y las baronías de Monastir, Acquafredda y Villaspeciosa. Obtuvo que en 1627 Villacidro también fue elevado al marquesado y en 1632 compró el señorío de Planargia a las autoridades fiscales. Este fue el momento de mayor esplendor de la familia, posteriormente el marqués Antonio participó en la conspiración contra el marqués de Camarassa.
