Basilico seems to have in addition to the Lombard lineage in the area between Saronno (VA) and Cogliate and Solaro (MI), also one in Gissi in the Chieti area, Basilicò is very rare and seems specific to the Trapani area, Basilio, almost as rare, has a strain in Milan and one in the Potentino area, derived either from the medieval name Basilicus as a royal or from the toponym Basiglio (MI) in its archaic Basilic form, in Basilicata it should instead derive from the term Basilicus (governor).
