Unida, very rare, is typical of Sassari. Integrations provided by Giuseppe Concas UNIDA: uncertainty about meaning and etymology remains. Unìda in Sardinian means United (adjective) and comes from the Spanish Unida, or from the United Italian. It could be the erroneous transcription of Onida (see Onida). Currently the surname is present in 41 Italian municipalities, 13 of which in Sardinia: Sassari 36, Nuoro 9, Quartu S. Elena 9, Gonnosfanadiga 6, Guspini 6 Erula 5, Benetutti 3, etc. We do not find it in the ancient documents, but there is Onida (see Onida).
