Corona nobiliare Wunner
Ancient and noble German family, originally from the Land of Bavaria, known as Wunner or Wunder, of clear and ancestral virtue, that has worldwide spread, over the centuries. According to what has been handed down, this family once belonged to the ancient nobility of the "Uradel", a term coined only in modern times, in reference to noble families whose ancestral lineage can be traced back to before the Middle Ages. Contrasts with "Briefadel" (lit. "letter of nobility"), titles created by letters patent from the king, a fashion which, influenced by French practice, was introduced in Germany under Emperor Charles IV (r. 1346-1378). Besides, this family, in all ages, always stood out, thanks to the prominent figures, which gave birth, in the public service, in the liberal professions and in the military service. Among these, without undervalue the omitted, we would like to mention: Karl, jurist in Freiburg, flourishing in 1436;... Continua
Detmar, presbyter in Barth, flourishing in 1440; Ludwig, landowner in Bavaria, in 1489; Siegfrid, jurist in Munich, in 1503; Karl Friedrich, doctor of law, flourishing in Nördlingen, in 1525; Karl Hans, captain of arms, flourishing in Nördlingen, in 1568; Georg, doctor of law, flourishing in Nördlingen, in 1602; Friedrich, knight, flourishing in Nördlingen, in 1632; Heinrich, landowner in Bavaria, in 1657; Friedrich, doctor of law, flourishing in Munich, 1699; Wolfgang, military doctor, flourishing in Freiburg, in 1712; Wilhelm, militiaman by profession, flourishing in Nördlingen, in 1737; Karl Ludwig, jurist, flourishing in Munich, in 1748. From the analysis of colours of the coat of arms we can have more information about the family virtues. Te tincture red (gules) is symbol of strength, power, fervent love for God and neighbour; the argent symbolizes purity, tenderness, temperance, mercy, kindness, the desire to win and the talent of eloquence. Family names so old, without any doubt, honour not only the families but also the cities that welcomed them; seems to be, in fact, very worthy living members of this family which, with much decorum, carry this noble surname, which has had several illustrious persons.
