Nobility crown FaFamille originaire de Fontanile, qui s'est ensuite étendue à Casale Monferrato, Mantoue et Alessandria. Il eut un chevalier de Malte, Ferdinando, en 1580, époque où la famille est déjà en haute estime. L'ancêtre connu est Gian Matteo, de Fontanile, déjà mort en 1539, père d'Ardizzino, sénateur (1545-62) et capitaine général de justice à Casale (1562). Son fils Orazio acheta le fief de Bruno aux Scarampi et en fut investi d'un titre noble le 24 mars 1588. Une décennie plus tard, le 15 avril 1598, le fief fut érigé dans le comté en faveur de son fils, Ortensio , préteur de Mantoue et sénateur, mort sans descendance. Il fut remplacé par son frère Ardizzino (décembre 1617), gouverneur de Trino et, comme son frère, sénateur.
