Fasciato

Image of the heraldic term: Fasciato
shield covered with bands of two alternating enamels; the band adjacent to the upper side is blazoned first. It can be with the contour lines in the shape of merlons ("double-sided"), zigzag ("rippled"), wavy ("wavy"); if the shield has left and one part bears the order of the enamels inverted with respect to the other, it is said to be "counter-banded".
